THE P.I.M.P FUNDRAISER

Stefan was brilliant, focused, proud, and deeply loved. He was a standout athlete at Saks High School earning a county MVP medal, two full-ride scholarships. He was college-educated, ambitious and full of promise.

In college, something changed. By 2016 it became clear Stefan was suffering a battle with addiction, a struggle many young adults face alone. He fought hard, he fought privately, and fought longer than anyone knew.

In 2024, Stefan passed away due to an overdose.

His death was felt throughout our family, and much more reflects a crisis plaguing sons, daughters, partners, and friends from their loved ones every day.

Addiction is not a moral failure. It is a disease, our community and furthermore this campaign was designed to raise awareness of.

TURNING PAIN INTO PURPOSE

Adraine_Royal_QAOA_Press_Kit-1.png

Adriane Royal is the passionate founder and visionary of The Queer Aunties of Atlanta (QAOA), a movement built on advocacy, community, and authentic sisterhood. Her mission is to create a safe and empowering space for Black and Brown queer women to connect, heal, and thrive together.

Through her leadership, QAOA has become a beacon for collaboration, love, and liberation, a family that uplifts every voice and celebrates every identity.

After losing her son, Stefan A. Hunter Jr., she transformed her grief into growth and power, creating P.I.M.P. -- Pathway Into My Purpose. This initiative reclaims strength from struggle and empowers young adults to overcome fentanyl addiction through mentorship, education and community support.

This message is from Adraine

"This page is for my son, but it's also for every mother, every auntie, every sister, and every women who has ever loved someone struggling with addiction. I want us to stand together, learn together, heal together, and protect our families."

Stefan's story lives here. Through us, his purpose continues.
